Members only

Membership in the Sampler Consortium International will provide access to resources, information, events, and gifts not available to non-members. (Access Members Only Materials )

Planned for the summer and fall of 2026 are the following:

  1. Access to the first installment of the Digital Resources Archive. This will be a searchable database of international organizations and institutions that have posted information and images of their sampler collections online for the public. Members will be to search the database for samplers from different countries, regions, and time periods. Members will also have an opportunity to help expand this database by contributing information about online sampler collections they know about but are not yet represented. Members will also have the opportunity of attaching notes to an online collection so future users will have a more detailed idea of what is available for viewing at that collection.
  2. A free gift: Chart and color recommendations for Mary Ann Waterman’s 1818 Rhode Island sampler. Charted by Queenstown Sampler Designs for the exclusive use of the Sampler Consortium International, this free gift to members will be available as a downloadable PDF. Included is historical research about Mary Ann Waterman (1806-1860) and her life in Johnston, Rhode Island.
  3. Sampler Exhibitions 2026-2027. Pulled together in one document and available for download as a PDF will be a list of all known 2026-2027 exhibitions featuring schoolgirl samplers and needlework pictures. The list will include information about the exhibition, as well as the hosting institution, address, dates, hours, and who to contact if needing to arrange a special group tour.
  4. Archive of Sampler Consortium International (SCI) Newsletters. The SCI will send via email a monthly newsletter to all members. The newsletter will include a message from the SCI president; a list of current exhibitions, upcoming lectures, and new publications; book and/or exhibition review; plus features titled “Where in the World?” and “Did You Know?” – both designed to share interesting tidbits of sampler related information. The archive of past issues will be available on the Members Only page.
