Thank you for your interest in the Sampler Consortium International!
We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit membership organization dedicated to promoting and facilitating the study and appreciation of antique schoolgirl samplers and related girlhood embroideries. The Sampler Consortium International has adopted the mission of the Sampler Consortium (no longer active) but plans to expand its activities and support to collaborations world wide.
The Sampler Consortium International will work to:
- Promote and conduct research on historic samplers and related girlhood embroideries;
- Increase public access to information, scholarship, and resources relevant to the study of historic samplers and girlhood embroideries;
- Design, develop, and support projects, exhibitions, and publications that expand knowledge and foster understanding of historic samplers and other girlhood embroideries; and
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among museum curators, historical society staff, private collectors, scholars, genealogists, librarians, educators, publishers, needlework practitioners, and other interested members of the public.
The Sampler Consortium International is led by a Board of Directors, with input from members of its Advisory Council.
We encourage you to become a member of the Sampler Consortium International and join us as we explore new ways to study, preserve, appreciate, and celebrate historic schoolgirl needlework. Members receive a monthly newsletter, access to member only events, discounts on publications, invitations to be involved in special projects, and the chance to work collaboratively with a community of like-minded individuals and organizations.
For general inquiries, please contact Lynne Anderson at Info@SamplerConsortiumInternational.org.
We look forward to hearing from you!
